The process of making an anthology: a series of texts that links to one another based on a chosen theme. I chose to do mine about identity and self-expression. The brief asked to create an outcome, including copies. For this project I gathered my texts in an A5-sized, 40-page book; put together with three-hole sewing and hard covers. The content is a blend of printing, illustration, collage-making and incorporation of other visual elements.
Final outcome: book and two copies of it.

A spread of a poster I put up in the studio (student responses, as a part of my research).

The book contains an envelope on the very last page, with loose visual elements that relate to the theme.

Initial ideas for the project.

Sketchbook: experimentation of individual text strips.

Sketchbook: experimentation of text strips (before).

Texts strips were copied, printed and illustrated with patterns drawn with a red marker (after).

Sketchbook: exploring different ways of communicating the texts.

I intended to add a layer of complexity to my design, by drawing patterns on it (identity is not always easy to understand). I chose red as it is a colour that draws attention.

I also cut out and glued red acetate paper to add on to the complexity of the design, in addition to explore other paper stocks.
